Paula, that's me!

My name is Paula and I am 10 years old and live in Berlin. I was born in Athens and I am half-Greek and half-German. When I was 3 years old, my mum separated from my dad and we moved to Germany. Because I was very little then, I cannot remember that time. Since then we fly to Greece two or three times every year as my large Greek family lives there. We spend a lot of time together when we’re there. I always enjoy this very much. In Germany, we’re only a small family. Whenever I am in Germany, I miss the sun, the ocean and my Greek family and friends. Whenever I am in Greece, I realise that there are no stray dogs roaming in Germany or dead ones lying on the side of the road. Also, in Germany we can do many things like going to the movies, ice skating, cycling and so on. It doesn’t matter where I am, there is always something missing. But mum says that it is awesome and comfortable to be at home in two places and to have family and friends in both places, people that care for you and are always there for you.
