When my mum went to high school, she was nice and comfortable, she felt more secure, she had no troubles on her mind, and she didn’t have to do anything other than study. She didn’t have to pay any bills, because she was with her parents. When it was time to leave for the University of Rethymno, she didn’t feel safe because she was leaving Lesvos. When she rented an apartment, she had more on her mind. She had lost her friends and her family. She had to be responsible for her home and the bills. The transition was difficult at first, but as time went by she slowly got used to it, and by the end of the first year, everything was set.
